Igor Mazepa, investment banker, CEO and owner of Concorde Capital investment company, believes that new Cabinet of Ministers does not seem to have a clear plan or vision
Igor Mazepa, an investment banker, CEO and founder of Ukraine-based Concorde Capital investment company, believes that that Denys Shmyhal’s Cabinet of Ministers does not seem to have a clear plan or vision for economic growth. It could “extinguish fires” during the crisis, but what about laying foundation for a long-term economic growth?
Igor Mazepa in his comments for Liga Finance, said:
“Denys Shmyhal’s Cabinet of Ministers does not seem to have a clear plan or vision, either for the coronavirus crisis or for economic recovery. The Cabinet and the Prime Minister are trying to hold out longer than their predecessors. They are looking for simple and short-term solutions that can please the President and, preferably, the people”, said Igor Mazepa.
“And what do we see as a result? Government has completely forgotten about the critical reforms: pension reform, privatisation. Even the medical semi-reform is practically buried. Monopolies continue to dominate many economic sectors”, comments Igor Mazepa.
“In my opinion, during a crisis, such a government can extinguish fires. But it is unlikely to be capable of reviving the economy and paving the way for its long-term growth”, summerized Igor Mazepa.
